Open to job and internship opportunities

Hi, I’mYusuf Gürcan

Junior iOS & Flutter Developer · İstanbul

I’m a junior, but I own the work you give me, test it, and hand it over so you don’t have to worry.

I’ve been working since 2021. With Flutter, I’ve worked on real apps in internships, a freelance job and a volunteer team; now I’m learning Swift and SwiftUI for iOS. I’m a first-year MIS student at Istanbul Topkapı University, ready to take work off your team’s plate.

Right now: learning iOS with Swift and SwiftUI

Why me?

With so many experienced developers around, and AI writing code, why hire a junior? Why Yusuf?

AI can write code, but it doesn’t own the work. Your team still needs someone who understands the task, does it, tests it, speaks up early when stuck, and hands it over so you can stop thinking about it. I’m not offering to replace a senior developer; I’m offering to take the work that eats their week: bug fixes, UI work, API integrations, tests. I’ve done this kind of work on real projects before.

What I base this on

  1. I own the work I’m given

I don’t take a task just to say "done"; I take it to hand it over working. At Uplide I worked across almost every stage of mobile apps: backend integration, UI, bug fixing, testing.

    Proof↳ Uplide Teknoloji

  2. I can step into an existing codebase

Not every job starts from scratch. During my internship at Dijital Gen I worked in the codebases of three different products: bug analysis, bug fixing, UI improvements and API integration.

    Proof↳ Dijital Gen Yazılım

  3. I test before I hand it over

When I hand work over, I want there to be little left for you to check. At Uplide I ran tests and performance evaluations and wrote feedback reports; in Blokla I verify the game rules with tests.

    Proof↳ Blokla!

  4. My work ethic started in high school

I’ve been working since 2021. I balanced school with work and worked with teams in technical service and production. Responsibility isn’t new to me.

    Proof↳ Aidata Bilişim

Hand me the work that eats your team’s week, and focus on what matters more.

About

A path I’ve been building step by step.

My interest in technology and software started in high school. While studying Information Technologies at a vocational high school, I also started working. From 2021 to 2024 I worked in technical service at Aidata Bilişim. Fixing hardware and software issues and assembling computers as part of a production team taught me work discipline and how to balance school with work.

Then I moved into software. During my internship at Uplide Teknoloji I took part in almost every stage of a mobile app: backend integration, UI, bug fixing and testing. At Dijital Gen I built mobile apps with Flutter, worked on REST API integrations and collaborated with the team through Git/GitHub. Separately, I spent four months supporting PetJoo, an acquaintance’s own project, as a freelancer: fixing bugs and improving the interface of its Flutter app.

In the EU-supported İyiliği Kodlayanlar program I received in-person Flutter training and joined the team of an app connecting psychologists with clients as a volunteer developer. Using technology for social good was the most meaningful part of that project for me.

I took a planned break for the university entrance exam and am now studying Management Information Systems at Istanbul Topkapı University. I want to continue my career especially in iOS and mobile development, so I’m learning Swift and SwiftUI and practising through my personal project Blokla. To me, software isn’t only about making a feature work; understanding what users need and making an app smooth, clear and reliable are part of the job too.

I’m at the start of my career and I don’t hide it. But I don’t want "junior" to mean "constantly needs help". Understand the task, ask when needed, do it, test it, hand it over, and fix things quickly when feedback comes in. My goal is to be a developer who saves the team time and can be trusted with work without a second thought.

Let’s talk

A short chat, before any interview.

I asked myself the questions recruiters ask most often. The answers are short and honest.

Yusuf GürcanJunior iOS & Flutter Developer
  1. You:

Hi! Could you tell me a bit about yourself?

  2. Yusuf:

Hi, I’m Yusuf. I’m a first-year MIS student. I’ve worked with Flutter in internships and projects, and now I’m learning Swift and SwiftUI for iOS. My focus is mobile app development.

  3. You:

You’re early in your career, right?

  4. Yusuf:

Yes, and I don’t hide it. But I started working in high school, and my years in technical service at Aidata taught me first-hand how to take responsibility and balance school with work.

  5. You:

Have you worked on real projects?

  6. Yusuf:

Yes. During my internship at Dijital Gen I built mobile apps with Flutter and worked on REST API integrations and bug fixes. I also spent four months supporting PetJoo, an acquaintance’s project, as a freelancer.

  7. You:

What happens when we give you a task?

  8. Yusuf:

First I make sure I understand what’s needed. Then I build it, test it, flag it early if I get stuck, and hand it over. No surprises; you always know where the work stands.

  9. You:

What do you do when you run into something you don’t know?

  10. Yusuf:

I don’t pretend. I say I don’t know, look into it, learn from the team, and then try what I’ve learned in a project.

  11. You:

How do you get along with a team?

  12. Yusuf:

Well; I’ve always worked in teams. In production at Aidata, on a shared codebase at Dijital Gen, in a volunteer team at İyiliği Kodlayanlar. I share what I’m working on, and I’m comfortable both asking for help and offering it. I fit into the team’s rhythm and never let my part slip.

  13. You:

What if your code gets criticised?

  14. Yusuf:

I’m glad. Feedback means the next version will be better.

  15. You:

What do you care about most in an app?

  16. Yusuf:

Not just that it works, but that it feels smooth, clear and reliable. In Blokla I enjoy sweating small details, like a block landing on exactly the right cell under your finger.

  17. You:

Where would you like to work?

  18. Yusuf:

In a mobile team that builds real products. Not someone who carries the whole load alone, but someone who delivers reliably, speaks up with ideas, suggests a better way when they see one, and over time helps shape the team’s direction.
